It's Military Appreciation Month, Here's Popular Discounts Available to Those Who Served

Military Appreciation Month is a time to recognize and honor the sacrifices made by those who have served in the armed forces. To show appreciation, many businesses and organizations offer discounts to active-duty military members and veterans during the month of May.


Below we have compiled some of the more popular discounts available this year. Make sure to check back often as we will update the list periodically.


From 4/30/23 to 7/4/23, Academy offers a discount to active military service members, veterans, and first responders. It’s their way of showing thanks and appreciation for all you do to protect our nation and serve in our local communities.


From May 2 through May 29, Bear Mattress is giving members of the military community 40% off site-wide. In order to redeem the discount you must verify your service with ID.me. The exclusive military discount cannot be combined with any other promotional offers.


Through May 14, 2023, veterans can get a complimentary single-day ticket for themselves and up to 3 guests. The tickets must be redeemed by July 9, 2023. The offer is available at both the Florida and Virginia locations. For specific info on the Virginia park, click here.


Service members should feast in honor of their ultimate sacrifice. On May 29th (Memorial Day) Active Duty and Veterans can dine in at Fogo for 50% off. Up to three of their guests will receive an additional 10% off.


On Memorial Day all active and former military personnel are admitted for free into the zoo.


This May, military members (Active duty, reserve or veterans) get free entry PLUS 50% off for their friends and family - up to four (4) guests. Please note, this offer is only available at the Westchester location.


May 15 through May 19, Mission BBQ is offering a free sandwich to active duty service members and veterans. Depending on which branch you were in will dictate which day you can claim your free sandwich. Here are the designated days:

5/15: Army

5/16: Marine Corps

5/17: Navy

5/18: Air Force and Space Force

5/19: Coast Guard


The celebration continues on 5/20 from 11:00AM to 2:00PM for Lunch with Our Heroes, where all active duty and veterans will receive a free sandwich.


QALO proudly offers a free ring for the month of May to current and former U.S. Military.


Sea World is honoring veterans during Military Appreciation Month by offering them free one-day admission at SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld San Antonio and SeaWorld San Diego. Veterans must register for the offer by May 14th, and they have until July 9th to redeem their free tickets.


Through June 5th, Sleep Number is offering an exclusive 20% off discount on most their beds, bases, furniture and bedding.


UFC GYM is offering active-duty and veterans a complimentary 30-day training period. Active-duty military may choose to redeem a seven-day Recovery pass as an alternative to the training period. Servicemembers may redeem the offers at select UFC GYM and UFC FIT locations across the country through May 31.


From May 26-29, Walgreens is giving veterans, military and their families 20% off regular price items with myWalgreens® in store only.

Military Appreciation Month is a great time for veterans to take advantage of discounts on a wide range of goods and services. Whether it's for travel, food, entertainment, or everyday necessities, veterans can save money while enjoying the benefits of their service to their country. It's a small token of appreciation for their sacrifices and service.
